TLDR : Answer Summary
Once your DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) is approved, there is generally no strict requirement to enter Thailand within a specific timeframe. Users have stated that you can enter anytime within the validity period of the DTV, which is five years. However, if your visa is linked to soft power activities, not participating might raise questions upon your entry. If there’s a significant delay before your arrival, it's advisable to be prepared for potential queries regarding your visa purpose.

Depends if you got approved with soft power options and a start date for say Muay Thai etc You will need to change the date or pay for a new course .. if a lengthy delay before arriving. No problem for remote working, you are just losing some of the 5 year validity

For what purpose for the DTV visa were you approved for ?

Soft Power activity?

If so... NOT participating in the soft power activity could pose future problems on entry into Thailand.

It's your own time you're wasting! But visas can be odd here things can change fast an entry stamp activates it fully and would be recommended even if only a few weeks

KindMango4098 it’s activated fully upon issue. Having entered once changes nothing in terms of how it’s administered beyond potential questioning if it was a soft power DTV.

Thanks for sharing!

So, hypothetically, what happens if your 5-year DTV expires tomorrow but you enter Thailand today? You get the 6months stamp normally?

Ik the visa was issued quite recently so this hasn't happened yet, but it could occur in the next few years.

Dca...

Re the confusing graphic...

I thought there's NO requirement for entering Thailand once the 5 year DTV visa has been issued... it's valid for Entry anytime during the 5 years.

Yeah, this is just a general infographic from the Thai Consulate in Munich trying to explain the difference between Visa/E–Visa Validity time period vs. permitted stay (Period of Stay) stamped by the Thai Immigration Officer at Entry....

Unfortunately, this general infographic from the Thai Consulate in Munich doesn't better explain Multiple Entry E–Visa's such as DTV, METV, Non O–X, Non O–A, LTR, etc. among other Thai Visa's/E–Visa's

The visa is valid 5 years, no need to enter before a certain date.

In case you got soft power you might get questions why you not attended.
