Hi There,

Since Bangkok Immigration (Devision 1) has added Required Documents for DTV extension:

[members only]

Would anyone know if itโ€™s possible to apply for DTV extension at Immigration in Bangkok, but based in Phuket? Meaning proof of Rent Agreement is for Phuket? Greatly appreciate your response without guessing ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‰

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question concerns the possibility of applying for a DTV extension at the Immigration Office in Bangkok while having a residence in Phuket, specifically regarding the requirement of providing a rental agreement. Responses suggest that the extension likely needs to be processed in the local immigration office corresponding to your residence, and some users recommend alternative solutions, like border runs to neighboring countries for easier processing.

I read in another group page that you need to resubmit all the documents to do the renewal and it is as troublesome as a new application as compared to doing a border run (a night stay recommended). If you are in Phuket, maybe a night in Malaysia's Penang or KL will be easier.

You're out nothing by slogging out to the main immigration office at Chaengwattana Road in the government complex and asking the people in section J (the people that do DTV extensions) if you can do it

BUT

I would say nope ๐Ÿ˜ฎ you have to be staying IN the area serviced by the immigration office

You'd go to do your extension in Phuket if that's where you have your rental agreement, have filed your 90 day report and have a TM30 filed

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Letโ€™s hope Phuket Immigration adds DTV extensions before March 29th ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป For those of us that likes: โ€œThe path of least resistanceโ€๐Ÿ’ƒ

well, it seems as if "The path of least resistance" is to do a weekend or so in a neighboring country, NOT to do an extension!

Weโ€™ll check sometime in mid February again for Phuket and Iโ€™ll report ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

good thing you have plenty of time to let them get up to speed on the DTV extensions down there ๐Ÿ™‚

Nope. I asked today again. Still no update. I showed them the Bangkok list but still no one there knows. Surprised a little as obviously Krabi issued one (same division).

so has nobody been in to look for one yet? A border bounce from phuket is not convenient at all. I'm in for my 90 day report on Monday... I was hoping to get the relevant info then. I'm a little shocked to think there's been nobody in phuket that needed the extension yet!

Ranong is 4 hours away. KL or Singapore only 1

hours away by plane.

@Stuart ********
can you literally turn around at kl airport and get on returning flight same day?
Stuart *********
@Tara *******
Sure. Singapore too. Penang closest but usually no bounce flights there and back same day.

Not to my knowledge.
