About dependent DTV visa

Hi everyone, I’d like to ask for some advice.

I currently hold a DTV visa that I obtained in Vietnam in 2025, and now I’m planning to apply for a dependent DTV visa for my son.

Do I need to go back to Vietnam for his application, or can I apply from another nearby country, such as Indonesia or the Philippines? (I’ve already been to Vietnam several times and would prefer a different location.)

Also, since it has been about a year since I got my DTV, should I resubmit the same documents I used before, or do I need to prepare a completely new set (e.g., bank statements, employment proof, etc.)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

One more question: compared to other nearby countries around Thailand, is Vietnam generally easier for DTV applications? I’ve seen that both I and some of my friends successfully applied in Vietnam, but we haven’t tried applying in other countries.

You can go to any country for his application. This time he is submitting an application and part of his documents will be a copy of your DTV, birth certificate proving you are his father, bank statements with 500K and application fee

You can apply from anywhere. You’ll be required to submit a latest bank statement.
