What should self-employed individuals know about applying for a DTV visa from Indonesia or nearby countries?

I'm planning my DTV application (Workcation) for November and would really appreciate some recent experiences, especially from other self-employed people.

My situation:

- German, deregistered from Germany since October 2025, so no fixed address anywhere

- Self-employed as a virtual assistant through my own US LLC, clients in Germany, Switzerland and the US – no Thai clients

- Currently based in Bali, moving on towards the end of the year

- Financial requirement is covered, seasoning started mid-July, so I can apply from mid-October

What I'd love to hear:

1. Embassy – has anyone applied from Indonesia through Jakarta? How were processing times and any document requests? Or would you go to Vientiane / HCMC / Phnom Penh instead?

2. Freelancers with your own company (LLC or similar) – which company documents did they actually ask for? Did anything need to be notarised or legalised, or were plain copies fine?

3. Documents not in English (client contract, bank statement) – did you need a certified translation? If so, where did you get it done and roughly what did it cost?

4. Bank statement – was a normal stamped statement from the bank enough? How recent did it have to be?

5. Agency or DIY? I'm leaning towards doing it myself since my paperwork is in good shape, but if anyone had a bad experience going solo as a freelancer, I'd like to know.
