Need some advice.

Our family (in Phuket) wants to go to a holiday in Europe (two weeks).We are fully vaccinated with yellow vaccination passport.

Is it possible to book a return ticket and apply for a COE in Thailand prior to leaving?

With the new regulations, do we still only need to use Phuket as entry point?

What's the difference between COE and the other thing they implement for 01/11?

My son is 11 years old, can he come into Thailand without vaccination?

TIA!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice about traveling from Phuket to Europe for two weeks. They inquire about the possibility of applying for a COE before departure, staying updated on new entry regulations effective November 1st, the distinction between COE and the Thai Pass system, and whether their 11-year-old son can enter Thailand without being vaccinated.

The main difference between COE and Thai Pass is that you will carry a QR code instead of a suitcase full of documents.

without wishing to inflame the anti CoE legion, I have entered Thailand twice in the past ten months and completed the CoE both times, and I honestly don’t know what all the manufactured outrage and indignation is about? It’s a precheck before travelling and ensures your paperwork is in order before attempting to travel.

CoE makes it impossible for people living in Thailand to travel abroad for a few weeks to see family :(

I live in Thailand and have been out and back into Thailand twice with the CoE?

Awesome. So you can apply for a CoE in Thailand?

@To***
You can apply for it anywhere, but I did it when I was abroad.

Aah ok. But what I understand it that you have to be atleast 21 days in that country to apply for a CoE. Also can we buy a return ticket from Thailand, or do we than have to buy singles?

@To***
I have never heard anything about 21 days in a country and I wasn’t asked that. Why would you need a single tickets? You should check your home country Thailand Embassy website.

It's on the embassy website. They also say that a CEO might take two weeks and that you should always apply atleast 14 days prior to you leaving. Meaning we will be forced to stay longer than two weeks (Dutch embassy). What embassy did you use?
Simon **********
@To***
London UK. CoE took 24 hours even over the weekend.

I've got no issue with the COE myself. I just mentioned that Thai authorities found the way to centralize all required papers in a QR code.

No one yet knows what the new rules will be after November 1st. You’ll just have to keep an eye on these forums and the news for when details will be published.

Cheers Stuart. It's amazing that we don't know what the rules will be for a week and a half from now. I cannot imagine people having a flight to Thailand on the 3rd of November for example.

Typically they tend to leave it until the last minute.
