Hi guys, I'm after a little info please

Has anyone traveled from the UK recently? I'm English and looking to get back home after 26 months away from my home, my wife and kids due to work and covid 19.

Had my second jab 3 days ago and can print a certificate next week to show anyone that asks for it

Please don't write if your not going to be helpful or sarcastic (as I have unfortunately seen on here) as this helps nobody and your just wasting your own time.

many thanks in advance

Stay safe

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance about traveling back to Thailand from the UK after 26 months away, affected by work and COVID-19. They have recently been vaccinated and are looking for specific travel advice to ensure a smooth return. Users respond with detailed information on visa requirements, COVID-19 health insurance, booking quarantine accommodations, applying for a Certificate of Entry (COE), and necessary COVID-19 testing prior to departure. They also mention alternatives like the Phuket sandbox program which allows for less restrictive conditions after a brief quarantine.

Hope you find this helpful! 😉

1. Visa requirements: You must have a valid visa to stay in Thailand, or re-entry permit, if not

You will have to proceed to apply for Thai visa for purpose of visits such as visa exemption, TR visa, etc at the nearest Thai Embassy or consulate in your residence country.

2. Prepare documents to apply for Certificate of Entry (COE) in which of the following Thai Embassy/Consulate needs:

a. You need to book an Alternative State Quarantine hotel for 15-night of state quarantine.

b. Having e-ticket confirmation/flight details from the airline.

c. Health insurance: Take a health insurance with at least 100,000 USD max coverage, stating also it takes in charge Covid-19.

3. Apply for Certificate of Entry (COE) ONLINE

The COE must be requested at least 7 days before departure for semi-commercial flights.

a. Then please register for COE online through:
*****************************
and filling in your personal information on application form also upload required documents into the system.

b. After submission of COE application, Thai Embassy/Consulate will pre-approve your application within 3 business days.

However, the visa application can be done independently, not waiting for the COE. It takes about a week for COE issuance. 4. Making an appointment for COVID test

You must obtain a COVID-19 lab test result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected by using RT-PCR test, issued not more than 72 hours before departure.

5. Finally almost done with Thailand entry requirement, please prepare the documents are as follows:

a. Valid Thai visa or re‑entry permit.

b. Declaration form

c. Certificate of Entry (COE).

d. Complete T.8 Form (Thailand’s Heath Declaration Form).

e. Medical certificate of COVID-19 Free by RT-PCR must be issued no more than 72 hours before departure.

f. Health insurance covering Covid-19 during the period of your stay in Thailand.

g. ASQ booking confirmation on arrival date.

h. Download the "ThailandPlus" App on your smart phone and complete the registration before travelling

Still need to do 14 nights quarantine at the moment. Even if vaccinated. Check London RTE, choose visa ( or visa exempt) and apply on line. Then you need COE, for which you need covid insurance, booked flights and ASQ confirmation . Also need negative RT- PCR test within 72 hours of first flight.

i (am) was hoping so myself I am due to go home to Bangkok from Singapore in July and fully vaccinated a week in Phuket sounds much better than another quarantine. But its not likely to happen as they say.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has sent an official letter to international travel partners confirming the opening of PHUKET SANDBOX, starting July 1, 2021

Phuket is set to be the first destination to lift quarantine requirements for vaccinated foreign tourists under the ‘Phuket Sandbox’ programme. After roughly 7 days on the island, travellers can travel to other parts of Thailand.

As of yesterday 22 % of Phukets wildly undercounted population has recieved two doses, before it will be allowed by health officials 70 % is needed by June 16th

@McGregor *********
Dont trust TAT but wait and see i am due to go back July but unless a miracle happens i will be doing quarantine again. Was just in news here yesterday in Singapore telling people to be aware if they book holiday in Phuket, they still have to apply permission to return and pay for full quarantine on return.

I would willingly bet anyone that its not going ahead. Not in that form anyway.

And the extra doses required to get to herd immunity status are not expected to arrive until August, and because takes two weeks for vaccine to become active i cannot see that happening by June 16th

Apply online at the Thai embassy London for your CoE. You'll need the covid insurance and booking for quarantine.

Better you check with the Thai embassy from your place as here you will have so many positive or negative comments and you will be lost :).
