Just wanting to know if anyone has gone to immigration yet to get the 60 day extension using the new form? Our passports are stamped now with 30th November. Can we go before that date to apply? Thinking that there will be many people attending on the 30th November and could be chaotic. We are Australian and I believe that our embassy will still issue a letter so for us it’s the ‘other’ box we need to tick on the form. We sailed here and can’t sail back to Australia until borders are open. Any updates or help most welcomed.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about applying for a 60-day extension for their visa in Thailand, as their current stamp expires on November 30. They expressed concern about potential crowds on that date and asked if they could apply earlier. Comments indicated that extensions are typically added to the current stamp's expiration date, and it is advisable to apply before the expiration to avoid delays, especially given the lack of embassy letters due to COVID-19 restrictions.

So , is it added to my current stamp ? Or should i wait until the last days to apply using the form requesting 60 days for unable to travel due to covid19 ?
I went today to MTT with an appointment but they advised to come back closer to Nov 30 as the 60 days would start from the day I applied for the extension. I'd already called ahead already to make sure that wasn't the case but apparently the people on the immigration hotline don't have up to date information. Also oz passport.
You should be able to go next week and get the 60 day extension of stay. It will be added to your current stamp, there is no benefit in waiting for the last moment.
If the embassy issues a letter, get the letter first. If they don't, ask them to send an e-mail saying they don't issue those letters.
