Has anyone on here had luck applying for a 3 month single entry tourist visa in Hong Kong? I contacted them and they told me that I have to be a Hong Kong resident to apply there. I was just hoping that one of you can confirm or deny what they said as it might be a case of laziness from their side that motivated their answer.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the feasibility of applying for a 3-month single entry tourist visa for Thailand while in Hong Kong, specifically questioning whether residency in Hong Kong is necessary for the application. It confirms that the visa is available for application but highlights that the stamp upon entry into Thailand is valid for only 60 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days. Several commenters share their experiences and relevant information.
You can do it, you need to copy the slip they give you when you stamp into Hong Kong
And remember a single entry tourist visa is VALID for 90 days from the date it's issued BUT when you stamp into thailand you get stamped in for 60 days.
I note that page does say "A copy of Hong Kong/Macau resident I.D. card." But it says that for Irish passport as well and they did not need it for me. They don't necessarily need everything they say they need, they did not need flights from me either (although that was a few years ago). A copy of the entry slip line Tod says they did need.
I hope so, I emailed them asking for the minimum requirements and was then told that I have to be Hong Kong citizen to apply. Seems highly unlikely that I wont be able to apply there.
