TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around an individual's experiences with tourist visa applications, specifically a denial from the Hong Kong consulate after using back-to-back tourist visas or visa exemptions for extended stays in Thailand. Key points include the reasons for visa denial often being lack of required documentation or having too many consecutive visas, and advice from the Hong Kong embassy for the individual to apply for new visas from their home country. A participant also shares their successful entry into Thailand after confirming they met the necessary documentation requirements.

I am flying back to Thailand tomorrow night and entering on visa exempt. This is what the HK embassy told me to do.
I will update here tomorrow to let you all know if I was successful or not.

Michael Carton glad you made it back. :)

Got in fine,
The only question i got asked was - ‘no visa this time’?
I felt like saying.. long fing story mate haaaha
Ron *******
Yes post has the picture of the notice telling him to apply in his own country in the future
Thanks man. I do have more than 20k in cash and will also have a flight out within 30 days + hotel booking.

I would make sure I had the 20K baht in cash (or the equivalent) when you fly in. Especially seeing as you have a few tourist visas in your passport. If an immigration officer that's stamping you in is gonna ask for anything it's gonna be proof of funds.

The only one who can tell you is the Immigration Officer at the desk looking at this passport and making the decision.

He stayed in Thailand for 2 yrs already on tourist visa and was denied fir that reason. He was told to get one from his home country.

It was the second report that people using back to back Tourist Visa or Visa Exempt Entry to stay long time in Thailand are getting the advice to apply for a new visa in their home country. But we only read what people like to tell us, we are not sure if all the requirements where met or not.
They tell you to apply in your home country just because if the visa is denied it is easy for you to stay in your home country and not have to arrange a Visa to stay there or arrange flights back home.
Michael ********
I find it a little strange though. Why does applying for a visa in your country make it ok? Its like.. we have suspicion you are working in thailand illegally but u can go home and get a visa no problem. The embassy at home in Aus could give me the same treatment. Lucky im getting a new passport soon 🙂

Haven't seen the post, but refusal at that consulate is only likely when you don't meet one of the 3 proofs (flight, funds, and proof of stay) or have multiple back to back visa's all from the HK consulate.
Ron *******
Yes. A written notice not too apply again. Only in his own country which happens to be Singapore. The photo of it was in his deleted post.
Michael ********
I had all the required documents, back to back visa exempts in the last year is what seemed to throw them off.
Michael ********
issued a notice?
Ron *******
Well, you may very well not be getting another one if other reports are to be believed. He was actually issued a notice including his details which he posted. It said to apply in his own country next time.
