Any update on Wise ? I know of a Thai woman who recently tried to send money from UK to the Kasikorn bank and the payment was refused by the bank.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users have reported mixed experiences transferring money from the UK to Thai banks using Wise. While many have successfully completed transfers to banks such as Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank with no issues, others encountered problems related to transfer limits and bank policies. It appears that there is a limit of 50,000 Baht for transfers without additional verification, and some users speculate that the recipient's account details, such as including a middle name, may affect the success of transactions. Additionally, some banks may subject large transfers to increased scrutiny due to regulations on money laundering.
I don't think so they use it routinely, I just shared the information to raise awareness and see if others had been affected.

Happened to me yesterday.
I noticed that the Wise site didn't ask what the transfer was for. ie, send money to family overseas.
I completed the transaction again with no problem the second time.

I was told by my KBank bank manager a few years ago that anything over 10,000 usd equivalent can be more subject to scrutiny re money laundering etc,, I’ve sent regularly monthly and try keep below that value, I’ve never had an issue, I have also on one occasion sent above that value no issue although took a couple days longer than normal to arrive

Last night it took Wise to Siam bank about 10 minutes to transfer 74k baht. Maybe it is about the reason for the transfer. I have used 'travel expenses'

There are more controls on incoming transfers above 50,000 Baht. Best to transfer amounts less than that.

I recently had this exact same issue between my bank in Canada and Remitly as the transfer app and receiving in Thailand at Bangkok Bank. I had no problem for 2 years using this procedure. Last week I had three failed attempts two for $25k and one for 15K that needed my attention. It was then known that during the final 15K transfer that for the last 2 years that Bangkok Bank had been accepting my transfers without the use of my middle name as the recipient. That is what caused the issue.Thailand is clamping down on foreign banking due to fraud and scam call centers I'm sure you have all heard. The middle name is on my Bangkok Bank account and until I change the recipient name to include my middle name they were being rejected this was not an issue in the past. When I upgraded the recipient name as it is on my Bangkok bank account to include the middle name there is no longer any issue. Hope you find this helpful good luck

I sent £200 to Krungthai bank and it has stated that the money won’t arrive till sometime today. I contacted wise and asked have they changed there policy on immediate transfers to Thailand and they wouldn’t give me a straight answer. Just told me that transfers can take up to 48hours.

Yes I saw this last week and noted Kasikorn bank was supposed to be ok! I'm just checking because as I said, I know of someone who has had a refusal from Kasikorn last week.
yes true. I called Wise yesterday as my transfer I made days ago had not posted. Although Wise gave a receipt that the transfer was completed. The Rep said there was an issue with their partner bank here and it was resolved and later yesterday they resent the money which successfully posted.
