Which bank works best with Wise for inward remittance so that it easily shows foreign transfer on the statement. I’m finished with Bangkok Bank. Many thanks.

Update: please state what wise process gives FTT in the Thai bank statement. You will know what I mean if you have direct experience.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around which Thai banks are best for receiving international remittances via Wise. Users report that Kasikorn Bank and Bangkok Bank are the most reliable for reflecting Wise transfers as 'International' on bank statements, with several participants confirming recent positive experiences with Kasikorn. There are also concerns about changes in Wise's banking partners affecting transfer visibility. Additionally, users advise selecting the 'Funds For Longstay In Thailand' option when processing transfers.

There is something going on with Wise, I’m not sure what it is

Last week I sent two transfers which took three minutes to come through

Designated by ‘ deposit/transfer via E channels’

This week I made another transfer and it has taken three days to come through - it has never taken that long

Arrived today designated by ‘ international transfer’

Anybody else having similar problems?

I just did a 500 uSD (my cap uppercase for u doesn't work), to KBank took less than 3 seconds, but it's not showing international. The international thingy has beaten me to parade rest!

I sent 2 times money to the KBank account of my partner. About 48k Baht each.

One direct from my international USD account and one from my Wise THB balance.

Both are declared as "Trade Finance Deposit".

The Thai statement translated shows something like "money from international".

you can use swift in wise. Thats the reason i asked. As for what it says on your statement, immigration will not read that as FTT and therefore no use for visa.

People here say KBank doesn't have FTT. FTT is the code from BBL.

People here say "Trade Finance Deposit" is the code from KBank and accepted from immigration.

In one month I will extend my visa in Khon Kaen. I will ask them.

Not sure what a Wise transfer looks like at Kasikorn, but my Social Security transfer shows as “Bahtnet deposit”.

bahtnet is not acceptable by immigration. They need additional proof.

It’s literally sent by the U.S. Social Security Administration in America. I don’t think I’ll be having trouble getting a letter from KBank saying it was sent internationally. You don’t think they have any experience with this?

my post is about how to show FTT in the bank statement so that I don’t have to visit to get letters and prove the FTT. It’s about simplicity which used to exist and now appears to be removed. Please no further need to engage. You do not have the experience to answer the question.

Only Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn will show Wise transfers as "International". Remember to select "Funds For Longstay In Thailand" option

well I know Bangkok Bank no longer show international even after selecting long term stay. So I have little faith in Kasikorn doing it unless you can prove it and show the method you used. Did you use swift?

That was for Bangkok Bank only and became unreliable recently

It used to be Bangkok Bank. I had 17 consecutive transfers marked correctly. Now I am not so sure because there have been issues recently and I can't check my statements. By many accounts Wise have changed their partner bank to Kasikorn which might be more reliable now. I asked Wise to tag my Account which they did.

Today it's Kasikorn. 6 months from now it could be SCB. If international transfer is important to you, use swift directly from your bank in home country. FX providers (like Wise or Remitly) will always shuffle things for greatest profit. Your needs are secondary if you're lucky. The international transfer designation had nothing to do with Bangkok bank. They received the money as a domestic transfer. It was Wise who made the change.

yes I agree it was not BBL. However, they have been so unhelpful in many other ways,

agree, i moved to kbank. Not because i experienced anything negative myself, but because of a lack of communication related to all the account closures. Would have been simple for then to send an email describing their goals and how they were going to reach them. But only silence. So my move was precautionary and they never even asked why. No customer sensitivity whatsoever.
