Last time I checked, foreigners have to go there and register before they can use the app. Still true? I was too lazy to do it!

Can't believe people still keep going on with TransferWise it's like a on going joke TransferWise only work to Thailand or within Thailand
You can use DeeMoney from Thailand to overseas.
To use your internet bank in Thailand you have to register and some branches want alot of information to even do a simple small transfer if you don't have work permit etc.

Now I see. It says they will not send Thai Baht out from Thailand. I have never tried to send Thai Baht. I am in Thailand but I always send USD. You can have USD accounts at many banks here. Thank you for clarifying.
I use kasikorn all the time. Smooth w no problem. Australia/usa/englamd/uae. All easy

Its going back 7 years, but i had a lot of trouble removing 400k bht from Siam commercial to Aus. Although previous to this, I had transferred more than 20m bht into Thailand. No way Siam bank would realease my money.
p.s. Bank was saying i had no proof where the money had come from? LOL.

Tell me about it. I had problems with SCB bank as well. And by the way, I have been with my SCB bank in Thailand for 21 years. I tried to send money to my Barclays bank acc. in the UK, a bank acc. that is in my own name (not someone else’s name), but they said I was not allowed to do it. I also tried to use my SCB card to buy shares online in cryptocurrencies, but they said “that is gambling”, and they refused that as well. It’s just getting to the point now where Thai banks have decided the way you spend your money will be determined by them, not by you. For that reason I have loaded up with Bitcoin, and when this nonsense gets too much, I will just send it to my Barclays account as a lump sum through one of the third-party cryptocurrency brokers that supply that service. That will cut out Thai banks completely thereby losing them any possibility of commission. Serves them right.

Use TransferWise I have had trouble free transfers at good rates.
I just found out TransferWise isn't authorised to transfer funds FROM a Thai bank. Therefore you need to have someone go to the bank in question to organise a transfer.
ok believed it worked both ways. Have done this Oz to Thailand usually the process works the same on the return leg. The TransferWise guys excuse the pun are very helpful I'm sure they can either explain how to. They even have info on setting up a baht account in Oz to help with a poor exchange rate and my assumption is they can send from Thailand to Oz bank.

I use Transferwise to transfer out of Thailand all the time. I use World Remit to send to Cambodia. I used Transferwise to send money to Kenya this morning.
Really. I have tried and tried to send money from my Krungsri Thai bank account to my UK HSBC. It will not let me. Says transferewise only works sending money in not out of Thailand yet
Daniel ******
Using a debit card, my friend in Kenya had the cash in his account in 20 minutes this morning.

following, is to my knowledge you can not open a Thai account with number on transfer wise to transfer money into
Daniel ******
I just transfer using a credit or debit card (debit is faster and cheaper). Takes all of 30 seconds if it is a repeat transfer and the info is in the app. For some reason, it won't let me transfer to Cambodia, so I use World Remit for that.
I use my US debit card. I have used my Thai credit card but it takes longer and the fee is higher for credit cards. My Thai debit card never works for anything online.

You are not the first to say it can be done. It is not the simple process of transferring in - what is the process for transferring out?

TransferWise does not transfer money OUT from Thailand.... Only INTO Thailand.

Unless it is a very large amount, you are better off using an app like Transferwise. Otherwise, trip to the bank and at least a half-hour procedure. It's agony.
