I was going to go visit as Iāve always wanted to see the city, but luckily I did a quick google search before leaving. Thereās been a lot of deaths and destruction, it sounds like a terrible situation.
The Immigration Bureau of Thailand has announced a temporary waiver of overstay fines for foreign tourists trapped by the flooding in eight southern provinces (including the province containing Hat Yai). This suggests that many travellers are unable to leave, likely because transport and crossing points are disrupted. ļæ¼
⢠Some āimmigration offices affected by floodingā are reportedly being restored āas soon as possibleā to resume services. ļæ¼
Iām sure that due to the circumstances they will be more lenient but it is Thailand and who knows what they will say. Good luck but get to immigration as soon as it reopens. If it is a 90 day report, you can do this online if itās not your first one
