TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can obtain a 3-month tourist visa for Thailand while in Vietnam, provided you meet the visa requirements. This visa allows you to enter Thailand, but you will be granted 60 days of stay within that 3-month validity.
If you meet the requirement, no problem. But the visa will be valid for 3 months and in that period you have to use it to get 60 days of Stay inside Thailand.
before you 60 days Admitted until ends you can apply for a 30 day Extension of Stay at a local immigration office. If you go to file for a Visa ask for the Single Entry Tourist Visa that is the official name, makes it more easy than the 90 day visa. It is always better, in my opinion, to buy a visa before you make your way to Thailand. Immigration and Thai Consulates knows that a 30 day Extension is possible and have no problem as long as your onward travel is within these 90 days.
ok at 60 days what do you do to get the next 30. I booked a flight round trip for a 87 day stay. I will go to Thai Embassy here in L. A. To file for Visa for 90 days. Do they do that there. Is that better. Or did I blow it by buying a r/ t ticket for 87 days because at 60 days go for extension and they could deny me. Or a Visa run to Cambodia???
