If you had to pick up islands or places to visit in the peak time of December which will still be less crowded where would you pick? We have already been to Koh Kood, Koh chang, Koh Mai and Koh Wai and were paradise in December!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Looking for less crowded islands to visit in Thailand during December, travelers can consider places like Koh Phayam, Koh Mak, and the Koh Yao Islands. Comments suggest that while several islands are popular, some remain quiet despite being in peak season, particularly those that are less developed or have fewer tourist attractions.

Thailand, Islands, peak season, and not croweded - that is the biggest oxymoron in literally every combination. Sadly. It did exist in the most enjoyable way during COVID. But mass- and overtourism is back in full force with all its negative adverse effects.

It’s not an oxymoron at all, many islands don’t have the attractions or connivence that bring tourism and stay relatively quiet and undisturbed even during peak holiday season.

You just can’t expect white sand and 7-11s

there are 100's of islands. Did you try google "islands of thailand"?

Koh Samui, Tao, (the hippie island I don't recall the name), Koh Lipe (favorite).

If you meant near to BKK/Pattaya - try Si Chang (north of pattaya), Larn, Far Islands (the islands further beyond Koh Larn).

There’s actually under 60 public ones that have accommodation options, there’s also private islands some of which have hotels

There’s plenty of less crowded islands, but you probably don’t want to go to them

There’s a smaller koh chang in ranong that’s quite undeveloped. Phaluai, sukon, libong, bulon le are all much less crowded.
