Where’s the easiest place in Asia that isn’t too far from Thailand to get a dependent approved. I have my DTV already just need to apply for my son who was only just born a few weeks ago. Thank you
Answer summary
The discussion centers around the best Asian locations near Thailand to apply for a dependent visa for a newborn. Various comments suggest avoiding Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) due to long waiting times (over 3 weeks) and instead recommend Hanoi, Vietnam, for a quicker process, reportedly taking 1-2 business days. Some advise Vientiane, Laos as another option for a fast application. The urgency is emphasized since the parents' DTVs are expiring soon, prompting a need to leave Thailand.

Thanks all he has a passport. The issue is my wife and I DTV expires in August so we need to leave Thailand. The idea was to just anticipate we might need to stay in Vietnam for a month to get the DTV for him done.
Don’t go to HCMC or Da Nang (have to apply thru HCMC for there anyway) - waiting time was over 3 weeks. This was a dependent visa for our baby born in Thailand, and we each had our DTV for a year already. Was not expedited at all.
I see many recommending Vientiane in Laos as very quick.
Best of luck. Wherever you go be prepared for at least 2 weeks.
