Hi guys, need assistance on 2 things as per updated terms as I haven't been back to Thailand in a few years. During our stay we planning to head to Cambodia for a week, just not sure about the travel between with regards to exit and re-entry. Coming from South Africa so trying to figure out if the visa exemption will allow it or if we'd need to apply for a tourist visa before band.
Secondly what is the required amount per person in USD apon arrival, last time they didn't check with regards to funds but did provide hotel info and will do so again if they need, just want to be extra sure on the funding side before we head out incase they ask on arrival.
Much appreciated in advance ๐ค๐ผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster seeks clarity on traveling to Thailand under a visa exemption after a one-week trip to Cambodia and the necessary documentation regarding proof of funds upon arrival. The commenter confirms that re-entering Thailand from Cambodia should be straightforward if certain guidelines are followed, emphasizing the importance of proof of onward travel, proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent), and proof of lodging.
You should have no issue entering thailand on a visa exempt entry, going to cambodia for a week and then coming back to thailand (as long as you DON'T try to cross back into thailand by land at the Aranyaprathet / Poipet border ๐ ).
Coming into the country visa exempt you can be asked for 3 things
proof of onward travel within the number of days you'd get stamped in for
proof of funds (20K baht per person or 40K baht per family or the equivalent in CASH)
