Are e-gates functional for foreigner arrivals in Thailand?

Are the e-gates functional for foreigner ARRIVALS? I have a Netherlands passport holder who checked into my villa yesterday that I am trying to report a TM30 for online. It is a self check-in, so I asked him to send me his passport and entry stamp (even though I know entry date isn't a required field, it is just for my records to ensure I don't have someone on overstay). He insists there's no entry stamp in his passport from Bangkok, replying: "Now the immigration doesn’t has arrival stamp."

I am not aware of the e-gates functioning for arrivals at any Thai airport, so it seems every foreigner would still get stamped. Is he wrong or has something changed, before I press him further about this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The e-gates in Thailand are currently functional for arrivals only for passport holders from Singapore and Hong Kong, who must have registered biometrics within the last three months. Most other foreign arrivals, including those with a Netherlands passport, should expect to receive a stamp upon arrival as e-gates are primarily designated for exits for non-Thai nationals. The person trying to report the TM30 is advised to investigate further as the individual's claim of having no stamp may be mistaken.

If he doesn't send the stamp himself, ask for all passport photos. He's either a bit confused or trying to get away with overstaying.

Currently the E-Gates are only for Thai Citizens and Singapore & HongKong passport holders. However these SG & HK passport holders must have travelled to Thailand not later than 3 months ago.

The biometrics records are expunged after 3 months so you need to register again at the manual counters on arrival.

I generally tag along with my Thai wife. The IO waves me to follow her.

TerranceBrdge Bridge I do the same, but there's an IO taking care of that. Not en e-gate.

The e-gates are open to foreigners arriving only if they carry a Hong Kong or Singapore passport.

Not sure about Netherlands passport, but I used the e-gate on arrival as a Singapore passport holder and got a sticker indicating my arrival date.

I have a Singapore passport and I entered through the e-gates (meant for sg, msia & hkg passports), via Suvarnabhumi mid this month, so it’s possible. There’s no stamp so you’ll have to click for a ticket indicating important personal details and dates

Thanks everyone. He has a Thai wife. I had wondered if there is a chance he went through the e-gate with her (don't know if that is even possible).

He can follow his wife to the fast track lane but he still needs to be stamped by the immigration counter whereas his wife uses the E-gates.

I have used the E-Gates many times at DEPARTURE only. I have never seen them on ARRIVAL.

Edit: Last Arrival 10 Days ago...

He is either lying, or unaware where in his passport the stamp is. The stamp could be on any of the pages.

Hai San correction, it seems that people from Singapore and Hong Kong can use e-gates for entry. But the person in question is from the Netherlands.

Hai San yes, but there are no e-gates for entry for a foreigner, only for exit.

Tell him to check his passport closely. There must be an entry stamp. 100%, unless he entered on a Thai passport

No, e-gates for foreigners are only for exit.

Only Thai nationals can use entry e-gates.

The e-gates are only for departures, not for arrivals. Arrivals are processed by an immigration officer.
