Hi everyone,
I’m currently researching the Thailand Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), specifically the Workation category, and I would appreciate any guidance on whether my profile would generally fit the requirements.
To explain my situation clearly, my background is in the fashion industry where I previously worked as a brand manager. Through that role, I built a long-term network with various international brands and professionals.
One of those relationships is with Nike, where I have maintained a long-standing professional connection for over 10 years. However, I want to be transparent that this is not a paid employment or contractual freelance arrangement. I do not receive invoices or regular payments from them. Instead, it is more of an informal industry relationship, where I occasionally receive product samples and maintain professional contact within the brand network. They have also mentioned they could provide a reference letter confirming our long-term association and collaborations.
At the moment, my actual income sources are separate from these brand relationships. I am currently working in New Zealand in factory-based roles to maintain stable active income, while also receiving passive income from dividends, which provides a consistent financial base. My passive income is the more stable long-term component of my finances.
Financially, I am in a stable position and can meet the required savings threshold of around 500,000 THB without issue.
My question is mainly about how cases like mine are typically viewed under the DTV Workation category. Since I do not have a single remote job contract or freelance invoices from international clients, but instead rely on a mix of passive income and general professional background, I would like to understand whether this type of profile is still considered eligible or competitive for approval.
I am not applying under the Soft Power category, as my situation does not align with that stream. My interest is specifically in the Workation pathway if my profile is suitable.
Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time
