I'm looking to move to Thailand by the end of this year, and would like to apply for the DTV using the professional portfolio / freelancer approach.
I'm currently a contract Software Engineer in London. Previous roles allowed remote working, although the current one requires hybrid attendance on site. The umbrella company that handles the admin side said they would be happy to provide a reference saying that the nature of my work is remote-capable, and that I have had remote-capable roles in the past.
I have the required funds split between my current account and an instant access digital regular saver.
I'd be looking to apply in a month or two, which would then be a couple of months before my current role ends. The intention would be to provide software/consultancy services remotely to non-Thai clients, rather than relying purely on my current contract.
Can anyone see any flaws in this plan? Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the other helpful posts and replies in this group - it's a really great resource!
