Update on my question from this morning. I have a 1 year non-o METV based on marriage to my thai wife. I got the visa in HCM vietnam on Feb. 27th of this year, my first bounce would be May 26th. I asked this morning if I am covered under new amnesty till end of July 31. I was told to go to Chiang Mai or call them to know for sure, well I just called Immigration at Chiang Mai and was told I saw covered until end of July. However I don't have much faith in the person I was talking to, he did speak english but he didn't sound convincing to me. Sorry to make this a long post but I believe the only way I will know for sure is by going there, I'll post my results when I return from chiang mai..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether their 1-year Non-O METV visa, obtained through marriage to a Thai national, is covered under the new amnesty until July 31. They have doubts about the information received over the phone from Chiang Mai Immigration and plan to visit the office in person for confirmation.

You COULD go to the C/M immigration office and make them give you a 60 day visit family extension (providing you meet the requirements).

AND I personally would rather have a REAL extension stamp in my passport for 2 months rather than the assurances that "I'm covered" on some yet to be enacted amnesty that runs until the 31st of July
