TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether their 1-year Non-O METV based on marriage to a Thai citizen is covered by the newly announced amnesty until July 30, especially since their first 90-day report is due on May 26. Responses clarify that they must either leave the country or apply for an extension and that overstaying may not incur fines if they cannot meet these requirements.

NO, also you have still the obligation to leave the country before the last day of your stamp or apply for the Extension of Stay based on family visit or the 1 year Extension of Stay based on being married to a Thai National.

If you can not leave the country and can not meet requirements for the Extension you are not fined for overstay after 26 May.

My first bounce is may 25th but since can't do that I was wondering if I could apply for 60 day extension or if I was covered under new amnesty was advised to call or go to Chiang Mai immigration. I called and was told i was covered until July 31st however I'm going to Chiang Mai to apply for extension just to be safe..

So, you you're not going for the extension of stay but leave the country every 90 days?

I think he has a multiple entry non o based on marriage and is not able to border bounce. So, in my understanding he should be covered. Or not? ๐Ÿค”

Did i say that? please read.

As there is no Stamp Extension of Stay permitted up to 31 July 2020, you are not allowed to be in Thailand according the immigration rules. You do not get fined for overstay if you can not find a way back home country, sorry, I just explain the rules,

I know you all like the first part, free stays for everybody, but that is not the rule.
