Hi Guys I flew out in February extended my Visa untill April had my flight cancelled then they gave amnesty untill July 31st which I have now got a flight for.Do I need to go to immigration as I have rented a car and they would not let me have it as I had no proof of the visa extension so had to use the mrs paperwork. The lady in rental shop pulled a piece of paperwork out from an embassy and said you need this.thought I was covered by the amnesty but not sure yet

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is uncertain about their visa status after utilizing the amnesty provided by Thai authorities due to flight cancellations. They have received information indicating that they may technically be on overstay since their visa has expired, despite being covered by the amnesty, which was intended to prevent fines and penalties for non-compliance. There is also concern regarding proof of visa extension required for car rental purposes.

I'm.hoping I can come back end of October so for me personally sooner things get back to anything near normal the better. Although nobody expected this amnesty so no saying they will not extend again
Mike *******
Mate the prices I was quoted before the amnesty were horrendous would have been devastated if I paid them for it to go free
Mike *******
Has your agent also offered to help you out before that happens for a small fee of course

my visa agent told me they give until july 31 to people to leave. Technically after that date you are on overstay therefore you can get arrested.

As stated above, you dont have a visa, you are on amnesty. Embassies are not giving out extension request letters anymore because of the amnesty.

Your visa has expired. You are technically on overstay. The amnesty gives you exemption from paying overstay fines and other penalties.
