I’m in the EU, but it’s not possible to apply for DTV from my country and I’m supposed to apply through a neighbouring country’s embassy. When i apply, does my location at that moment matter? Do I need to be in my country, the one where I’m applying or can be in any third country? Also had anything changed when it comes to soft power rules?

They need to change the DTV for ones already issued for soft power. Like the Thai culture or getting some dental work. Remote workers makes sense because they can work 5 years. Nobody taking 5 years cooking. It’s will be interesting to see what they change next. Entry screening more

How would do your dental work on visa exemption if you have an appointment every month? Let’s say you could skip one month or two but theoretically you are allowed 2 visa exemptions per year. Or for how many tourist visas per should you apply for in that case?

Logically though you could get away with doing most dental work on a tourist visa or visa exempt. The biggest detractor of the soft power DTV is that all of its reasons for issue are also covered by other visas.

That falls under the requirement for proof of permanent residence, proof of citizenship just supersedes it though.

Someone could, for example, be a French citizen with a US green card and in that instance they’d be eligible to apply from either the US or France.
