Hello everyone and thank you for answering questions. I am currently in Thailand and intend to travel to Cambodia by land and apply for a muay Thai visa. My question is, will it be enough to show the visa I received upon entering Cambodia and stamp it in my passport fo the application? Are there any problems expected when returning to Thailand by land with the dtv visa?Thanks again for all the help.

For the last 17 years I have held a work permit and a extension of stay based on employment (while living in Thailand). My employer has always handled all of the paperwork related to renewals, extensions etc.

I am now finishing my employment on 8th of November. I am planning to leave the country the next day and return on a 30 day tourist visa (via land crossing at Poipet).

When I return on the tourist visa, I will immediate start the process of obtaining a 15 month educational visa.

Does this sound reasonable? Any potential problems?

I will be age 50 in 8 months. Will there be a problem getting a retirement visa next year or possibly getting another job with a 'normal' work permit/visa in the future?

Same day departure as that of the arrival was denied to me at Poi Phet, Cambodia immigration exit.

The officer said I must stay at least one day in Cambodia.

If this wasn't the case for same day arrivals and departures through the Aranyaprathet-Poipet Crossing, it now is.

I've just arrived back in Chiang Mai. Despite having applied for an ED visa (Muay Thai), it didn't arrive in time, so I entered on a 30-day visa exemption (at BKK). My ED visa was just approved (by the Thai embassy in Ottawa, Canada). It seems like the best thing to do at this point would be to do a visa run. I was hoping to ask a few questions before committing to this:

1) Is it possible to enter by land with an ED visa, or should I spring for a flight somewhere? Any suggestions? Should I plan to stay out of the country for a number or days, or can I turn right around?

2) I was previously here for over two years during the pandemic, partly on an ED visa (Thai language), and partly on COVID extensions. The border officer in Bangkok didn't like this. I was honest about my situation of my ED visa not being approved, and all was fine in the end. But it was stressful as she was demanding that I speak in Thai, etc. Should I be ready for anything similar crossing back in on the ED visa, or do we think this was because I was trying to enter on an visa exemption?
