Hey guys I am currently applying for a DTV visa. For the proof of free lancer status document
Will an engagement letter between the companies I offer my services to and also invoices up 4 months will be enough to prove free lancer status ?
Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
In applying for a DTV visa in Thailand, providing proof of freelancer status typically includes an engagement letter and invoices for the past few months. An engagement letter should clearly outline your role, service duration, and payment terms, while invoices need to reflect regular payments that correspond to the work detailed in the engagement letter. It's also beneficial to include additional documentation, such as payment confirmations, and to verify any specific requirements with your embassy or consulate, as these can vary.
I submitted an engagement contract and also my business registration certificate (Australia). Both came back with a request to highlight specifically where it states my work can be conducted remotely. In the end I asked chatgpt to review the engagement contract and write a statement highlighting the clauses relevant to remote work for a DVT application. Took 60 seconds and my visa was approved soon after.

Hey Aiden! π Sounds like you're well on your way, exciting times! π From my experience (and what others in my community have shared), an engagement letter + a few monthsβ worth of invoices should usually be fine as proof of freelancer status for the DTV visa. Just make sure:
The engagement letter is signed and clearly states your role, duration of service, and payment terms.
The invoices show regularity and match the scope of work mentioned in the engagement letter.
Bonus points if you can include payment confirmations (like bank statements or PayPal screenshots) to back it up.
Also worth checking if your embassy or consulate has any specific preferences, they sometimes vary a bit. Best of luck with your application, you've got this! π Cheers from Udonthani π PruLadda
