Hi. Here's a niche "anything else". Brits. Looking for recent experiences. How many days did it take from submission to receipt in the post, for your Arco police check in the UK? Looking for anyone who did it since they went to manual processing. They are currently quoting 20 days plus postal time. Thanks

Apologies if this is asked a lot, I’ve had a search through posts and couldn’t find an answer. I’m applying for a non-b visa as a teacher from the UK. I need to upload a DBS check and I’m not clear on if that needs to be enhanced or standard. I’ve emailed the embassy in London and they replied ‘yes’ but didn’t clarify which dbs they were saying yes to!! 😫

One more question, if you’ve gone through the process to get a work permit as a teacher once in Thailand, which documents did you need to have attested I.e. PGCE, QTS, Bachelors?

I have two questions.

First question: I have a job at a school in Bangkok and am applying for a non-b visa via the London embassy e-visa website. Do I need a current criminal record check to apply for the non-b visa?

If I do need a criminal record check then I have a new issue...

It was a last-minute hire so I'm due to start 9th January but fly on 23rd December so am concerned about turnaround times for a DBS check. I have a very very old enhanced DBS check certificate from 2007 from an old job. Would that work? Technically, DBS checks do not have an expiry date so maybe?

Second question: I am applying for non - b visa single entry as I have never been to Thailand before. I am planning a short holiday to Cambodia after I arrive in Thailand but before I start my job. Is it possible to leave the country briefly on a non - b single entry visa?

Information hugely appreciated!

Hoping I can seek help relating to a couple of items needed to apply now for PR after living in Thailand + 10 years. I am told I need to provide a *clean criminal record* reference (UK). As well as an educational certificate. Could any brits who have applied for PR advise where they received their clean criminal record certificate (British Embassy / BKK or via Arco/UK). Also for an *educational certificate*, im told this is mandatory, but I dont' have this and left school in the early mid/late 80's. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
