TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking quick options for obtaining a criminal record check necessary for an education visa (ED visa) application in Thailand, specifically asking for the easiest method available online from England. Comments suggest visiting the PCS Center in Bangkok if the online options are not feasible, and note that the Ministry of Education requires these checks for private schools in certain regions of Thailand.

In looking at that paper
@Emily *******
got from the school I wonder why they list the price of an ED visa in KL as 3K baht (unless it's the ringgit conversion that throws the price off).

Also look at the price for an extension of stay 3K baht versus the real price of 1900. That's the "special island price" if I'm not mistaken :(

300 myr could be nearly 3K thb, depends on the exchange rate... Right now about 2500 thb, but a few years back it was almost 3300 thb.

It has been a requirement for a good while now at the private schools in the south (from about Hua Hin down and all the islands if I recall) that the Ministry of Education wants criminal background checks before they issue the paperwork so a student can go out of the country and get the ED visa from a consulate.

Thanks for this information.

The only way to do it if you can not reach the website, I can without problems, is to visit the pcs center in Bangkok. I don't understand: "I need something online sent to me asap and it cost a lot", as everybody else you follow the procedures and pay the fee of 100 Thb.

okay but the school wants it, and asks everyone who applies for it. My question wasn't about if I need it or not... it was where do I get one

Vientiane does not require a criminal record for ED, only for South African the MOE request it.

As you can see, no criminal record and bank statement needed for a 9 month language course.

Agree, I answered the question based on given information. But now it turns out different due to new information. I will ask questions before I just give an answer. Or hoping that the person ask a question with all relevant information.

I did ED visa and no need for criminal record...

Schools teach people, they don't hand out a visa. You get those at Immigration with documentation of the school or at Thai Consulate or Embassy.

@Emily *******
: So now the question is: What kind of course are you going to follow and where do you want to apply for the ED visa?
Robert *******
@Amornrat *********
: Depends in KL on which program you want to follow, but is seems it must be from home country: 7. Certified criminal record in the applicant’s country of origin (for applicant enrolling in a degree program only)
