Hi there, my partner has applied for a 6 month education visa to study Thai. Just need some advice please about Police check. She is a UK citizen but has lived in Australia for the last 5 years. Assuming they will just want a UK police check? She has one from ACRO but it was issued in 2016 - will that be suffice? She is currently in Thailand and will be travelling to Yangon to receive the education visa from the embassy there. Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen applying for a Non-ED visa to study Thai may not need a police check despite its listing on the consulate's website. According to community advice, only a 90-day single-entry Non-ED visa is typically issued initially, which can later be extended with documentation from the school.

Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Just so you and your partner know, all they will get will be a 90 day single entry Non-ED visa (from ANY thai consulate in the area).
They'll get stamped in for 90 days when they show up and then when that runs down the school will give them documentation to go to the immigration office and get a 90 day extension. <- that will be how they get the 6 months..
