TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry regards whether specific income sources like rental properties, Airbnb earnings, and stock market trading qualify for the DTV visa in Thailand, given the requirement of having 500,000 THB in a bank account. Responses indicate that while the financial requirement involves maintaining the bank balance, proof of income from an overseas source may be required, depending on specific embassy guidelines. It is emphasized that applicants should verify with the embassy to meet all requirements.

provide bank statement with amount equal 500K THB is enough

the 500k is a similar requirement to the a retirement Visa's 800k. In the Retirement visa, there's a, 'no work' rule. With the DTV, applicants can do remote work where they can spend long periods of time in Thailand, while the income they earn comes from overseas. Evidence of that work, employment and income must be provided along with showing a bank balance of a minimum of 500k Baht in an account in Thailand or another country.

Visa is good for ten years… Do you need to show them the 500 k every year? Or only once when you apply.

what's incorrect?

what do you mean by "providing earning money" ? you need to show 500k in your account, thats all. and you mentioned you have it.
Lee ***********
You never mentioned a category, you gave a blanket statement with no reference, I gave reference, please read all and refer to facts, people are confused enough.
Lee ***********
@Pavol ******
you need to read the rules and listen to what's being said, proof of work is one requirement under DTV1, you shouldn't be telling people they don't need things they do need when referring to finances.

please explain what kind of income you need to show in soft power category

@Pavol ******
incorrect. Read my response to Taketo Fredrik

There is no earnings requirement for DTV. 500k in a bank in your name. That’s the only financial requirement

@Todd ********
Well. That is one requirement. The other needed one would be to proof either business ownership or a remote contract abroad, or a booked soft power activity. 😉

@Frank-Steven **********
and therefore my wording ‘financial requirement’

No worries, mate. I guess the start of your comment where you said "no earnings requirement" made me worried some people might overlook the fact that that is one of the possible core requirements. I know, you know.

You need to have a freelance business.. Stock trading with an income tax form proving you make money should do
John **********
It might be easier for you to look at the soft options rather than remote work

@Tin *********
you need to look at the visa requirements. There are 2 options, 1 is for remote work and the other specifies a number of what they call soft power options such as Muay Thai, Cooking, Medical, etc.

You need to ask the embassy you plan to use, not us. Each embassy will make their own requirements and this visa has only existed for 10 days. The only people who can tell you what will qualify is the embassy you'll apply through.
