I want to apply for DTV next week at Kuala Lumpur. Their website has a list of 5 documents required for the soft power-related activities, but the Checklist_DTV.pdf at the bottom of the same page has 8, the extra ones are rental agreement and payslips/income proof.

Do you know what they actually ask for?

I'm currently in the UK and about to apply for a SETV via the new online system.

The old paper system was a lot easier and didn't require so many documents to be submitted such as flight ticket, proof of funds etc. It also didn't need anything more than an intended date of travel.

It is what it is, we have to accept that.

I have a return flight booked to Thailand arriving in October and leaving in May. Once my SETV expires or the 30 day extension I get from Chiang Mai immigration expires, I will head off to Australia and New Zealand and come back to Thailand in perhaps April. I haven't booked those tickets yet.

I have applied for SETV in Melbourne before via the simple paper application and I've never had to show proof of funds.

My question is, how do I show proof of funds for this application when they are in a UK bank and I'm in Australia?

I dont know whether a screen capture of my online banking statement would be enough, because it only shows my first name on the page.

It's quite clear that this online visa application has made it a whole lot more difficult.

The system only accepts low resolution document photo's/scans and doesn't automatically convert to low res which adds to the ball ache.

I also have to show proof of address. All I have is a copy of a rental agreement for a property that my Thai girlfriend and I rent.

I'm 46 and retired and have no other visa options open to me.

Any sound advice rather than speculation would be welcome. TIA
