Just wondering if anyone has tried to do the e visa from Australia to get a non O visa. We are retiring in May and I am trying to get the Non O visa in the new system but it does not seem to be working. When I put in Australia as my current place of living it won’t let me progress. Yes on the previous page it says that is the correct web site and yes I can apply there.

I have tried to find the Non O visiting Spouse 12 month Multi entry on the new Canberra site.

It seems they have removed it altogether.

Non O retirement single entry 3 months only

I was afraid this would happen when the eVisa system changed

I actually had my application documents deposited with Sydney before the change over but couldn't get my passport to them in time

, eVisa system doesn't issue multiple entry Non-O visas, unfortunately.

No use to me as I work 2on 2off in Aus and travel to Thailand for my breaks.

Any suggestions for a work around. Short of tourist visa or continuing on the Visa exemption process

You got limited choices,

You sure aren't gonna use tourist visas or free entry stamps because you'll get pulled aside and denied entry before too long on those

You COULD show 400K baht in a thai bank account for 2 months and go to the thai consulate in Savannakhet to get the year long multi-entry Non-O based on marriage when you're here.

OR

You email Sydney and see if they can sell the year/multi Non-O on a case by case basis. There were reports from other countries who are in the eVisa system where a consulate DID issue a year/multi non-O even though it's not a choice

WHOOP hang about

Looks like Canberra DID go live, I checked it a few minutes ago and couldn't select a consulate NOW it defaults to Canberra

I have navigated the system successfully just not sure what to put when it asks for departure date. We don’t have a departure date because we intended converting to a retirement visa once we are there. So I have just put a date close to the 90’days. Is that ok

@Kristina ******
it'll either be okay, or they'll email you and ask for proof you're leaving

, I recently applied for friend whilst in UK. On the original application it just ask for flight Number which you would arrive on. But later they ask by email for the flight ticket to be sent. This wasn't a problem as my friend had already booked his ticket. He was successful in getting his None O visa. The all process was 7 days from start to finish.
