TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around concerns about the potential future implications of using an agent for Thai visa applications, particularly given the current turmoil in the U.S. Some participants emphasize the unpredictability of immigration policies and suggest maintaining a Thai bank account and SIM card for ease of access if returning to Thailand. There are also references to the current situation in America affecting long-term plans for expats.

Question was to “any foreseeable changes in the future” regarding using agents or Thai Visa Centre? America is currently a disaster in economy, housing, rioting/crime & to be announced. Time should be a few weeks but calculating a few years.

yeah, I am west coast & very Los Angeles so feel for the city. Though political views shouldn’t be in this group. I’ll let it play out. Hopefully back in a couple years as the whole point is work.

Using a agent is up to individuals no one can foresee how the immigration will act in a few years time....if u do already have a rhai bank acct I would say keep it alive and don't close the acct and keep the thai sim.....during covid I have kept both my thai bank acct and thai sim and it does make it easier for me when thailand reopens it's door

yes, it's the age old "blame the foreigner" malarkey. I get stupid trolls posting offensive stuff because they think my name defines nationality. Mostly yanks, sad to say. But as a British person with the birthright and DNA to prove who I am, it's just pathetic.
