Can someone show me what the Long Term Retirement visa looks like please. I'm applying for mine here in Thailand via an agent which will cost me £500 instead of £1500 via my embassy, but I just want to make sure it's legit, although it's been recommended by someone who has done it via them.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a Long Term Retirement visa in Thailand and questions the legitimacy of the process as they are using an agent that charges £500 instead of £1500 through the embassy. Comments suggest skepticism about the fees charged by embassies, warn against using agents, and recommend checking the official Thai government website for accurate and free visa information. Discussions touch on different visa types, costs, and alternative methods to apply.

That sounds like you are getting a Non-O visa for retirement not an LTR visa

About £500 to £550 for the first year is about right for using an agent

You can get all the information and help for free from BOI; look at their website; the total costs are 50.000thb to pay directly to immigration office or to the embassy (there might be a difference in this amount when abroad). It’s a waiste of money to pay more; if you meet the requirements it’s a piece of cake.

board of investors , they will approve your LTR visa and if you meet all the requirements they will take care of the further action with immigration for your visa. They will help you during the entire process . And that all for free, you only pay the visa fee directly to immigration or if you are abroad you have to pay directly to the embassy. You can google on boi LTR.

Non Thai Embassies don’t process Thai visas.

Come to TH on a non O and after arrival start work on the LTR. If possible , avoid agents

correct, but if you are abroad you can get the visa from your embassy instead of from immigration in Bangkok.
