TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation provides various suggestions for obtaining a Non O Retirement Visa in Thailand. Respondents highlight that the initial application for a 3-month Non O visa is often best done from one's home country. Once in Thailand, individuals can apply for a one-year extension at local immigration offices, which can cost around 2000 baht. There are mixed opinions on using visa agents, with some recommending handling the process independently to save money, while others provide links and offer assistance. Specific locations in Thailand, such as Nakhon Pathom, are mentioned for potential visa services.

We recommend starting by applying for your initial 3-month Non-O visa from your home country before traveling to Thailand.
Once you arrive, you can open a local bank account and then choose whether to handle your one-year extension yourself or work with an agency.

Are you asking for an agent recommendation in Thailand? If yes, then you are going to need to tell us what part of TL (e.g. BKK, Pattaya, Phuket, etc) so people can recommend a agent in your area. If you are in TL, the cheapest way to get a visa is to do it yourself at any immigration office. It's a bit complicated the first time you do it on your own but if you are patient, you'll save a whole lot of money vs using an agent. It'll only cost you a couple thousand Baht if YOU do it at immigration.

About £60 from London. Maybe $90 from a US embassy/consulate
2,000 baht to apply in country, or about 1,000,000 baht to apply from New Zealand. (Well ok that might be a little bit exaggerated).
