Hi All

Currently leave in Australia with Thai partner and our young Son

Who both have Thai passports.

Look at retirement very soon in Buriram Thailand.

What is the best way about to get a visa retirement or spouse visa?

Is it best to apply at the Thai embassy in Australia or Thailand,

Suggest an agent or not.

I would appreciate your valued comments please to assist .

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user currently residing in Australia is seeking advice on obtaining a retirement or spouse visa for living in Buriram, Thailand. Several commenters suggest applying for a NON-O visa initially for a short stay and then transitioning to a retirement visa for an extended period. It's recommended to apply in Thailand, particularly for the retirement visa, and some commenters mention the requirements for maintaining specific amounts in a Thai bank account for visa approval. While agents can assist with the process, opinions vary on their necessity and cost-effectiveness.

a agent will charge about 35,000 baht and they do everything for you that's what i paid im sure there are cheaper if a marriage visa get it done in Buriram you have to show 400,000baht in a Thai bank account there is no Spouses visa retirement visa you have to have 800,000 baht in Account for 2 months to be granted visa i applied in Thailand no problem a agent will open a bank account for you but you must apply in the province you are going to live in

I'm not sure which is best That will depend on your situation but I suggest you look at all the Visa types and see which one suits you best. Some must be applied for in your own country, some in Thailand and some anywhere but Thailand and it would be silly to decide the best one needs to be applied for in Aus when you've already left. ๐Ÿ˜€
