I know nobody can assure this but maybe someone like Tod has an idea 😉

Assuming you’d be locked up in corona related quarantine (when re-entering Thailand) and your permitted stay is running out because of that (coming back on March 9th, under consideration stamp till March 19) - would that jeopardize my one year extension or could I expect an exemption because of the quarantine?

A bit worried about the screening and potential quarantine (not so worried about the actual virus 😉 )

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the implications of undergoing quarantine upon re-entering Thailand on March 9th, as their allowed stay expires on March 19th. They want to know if a quarantine situation could jeopardize their application for a one-year extension. Responses indicate that extensions for medical reasons, including quarantine, are possible, provided the application is made during the legal stay.

Time to close the commenting. This page is for Thai visa advice and the advice what happens if you are in a Thai hospital is given.

To discus the cases by "Assuming you’d be", is maybe nice, but this page is not the place for that.

Corona, quarantine, this is al due to medical reasons. And Thailand Immigration provide since many years the possibility to apply for an Extension of Stay due to medical reasons. The doctor provide the statement that a person can not travel, a hospital employee organize the Extension of Stay. This must be done during your legal stay, not after you gone into overstay.

Sorry, but this page is for Thai visa advice. Not for to discuss what can happen when you are in Thailand Some people get sick, others do not get sick. some people enjoy their holiday, some get motorbike accidents. Part of life.

I have no idea what you try to ask, there is no mentioning of quarantine in that link. But I try again:

IF you arrive in Thailand, you get your stamp from Immigration. In the case you are sick it does not matter what kind of sickness, and it seems that you have to stay longer inside Thailand then you are allowed by the stamp in your passport, you can apply for an Extension of Stay based on Medical Reasons.

You asked about quarantine period during your stay inside Thailand, meaning being in a special controlled environment under direct supervision of medics.

Not just travel around, do not mix up things.

@Rob***
as we‘d come back 10 days before the consideration period is over - that should be ok then.
