Hi All,

I’m on a multiple entry marriage visa that requires me to leave the country every 90 days and then then reenter to get automatically extended. I will need to leave May 15th.

Will I be able to get an automatic 90 days extension without leaving the country because of C-19? Or will It be just a 30 day extension?

I haven’t seen anything that directly addresses those with marriage visas and retirement visas by the government yet.

Thanks in Advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether they can obtain a 90-day automatic extension on their multiple entry marriage visa due to COVID-19 regulations, as they are required to leave Thailand every 90 days. Comments indicate uncertainty, highlighting that current conditions may not allow for a 90-day automatic extension if borders remain closed, and suggest considering a 60-day extension instead.

Initially, you get a type O visa and you have to leave Thailand to get this visa. On return you have three months to convert the type O to a marriage visa. The marriage visa is valid for one year from date of issue. The marriage visa is renewed every year without having to leave Thailand.

After one year you have to re apply for your marriage part of the visa. This is done in Thailand and is just a case of checking your documents from the original application. They are checking that your circumstances haven’t changed ie. that you are still married, have 400.000 baht in the bank. No need to leave Thailand every three months. Just report to immigration.

Just to clarify the 1 year stay you recieve from immigration after your Non Imm O expires is a yearly extention of stay based on marriage, not a marriage visa.

No you will NOT get an automatic 90 day extension if the borders are still closed and you can't bounce when your current 90 day entry stamp expires :(

You could get a 60 day visit thai family extension for 190baht and hopefully that will tide you over until the borders open and you can bounce again

Thanks,

If I do receive the 60 day visit Thai family extension will that void my mult-entry entry marriage visa?

The multi entry Non Imm O visa based on marriage is valid for 1 year but requires you to leave the country every 90 days.

. Can be yes, or a 90 day single entry. Those on yearlies need to exit and reenter every 90 days to re activate another 90 days. He cant do that so hence his question
