TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about applying for a yearly marriage visa with a passport that is only valid for 5 months. An immigration representative indicated that the current visa would expire in March when the passport does, necessitating reapplication. A comment confirms that visa extensions are limited to the passport's validity period, meaning the user would need to apply for a new visa with a new passport.

No. You can only get an extension until the validity of your passport. If that’s 5 months then that’s all you’ll get and you’ll need to apply for a new one when you get your new passport.
