Do I get an extra 90 days permission to stay when a tourist visa converts to a "non B teacher" visa?

My school is telling me yes, but I can't seem to find it documented anywhere. I'm just nervous and don't want to scramble last minute if this isn't true.

Details:

I'm USA passport. On a 60 day eVisa.

After they help me get converted to non-B, they will apply for work permit.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you convert a tourist visa to a Non-B visa for teaching in Thailand, you will receive a new 90-day stay permission. The process involves applying at the immigration office with your school's assistance to provide the necessary paperwork. As long as you have sufficient days remaining on your current visa, you can complete the in-country conversion, which typically allows for a 90-day stay from the date of issuance.

you will go to the immigration office and apply for a Non-B visa

(you need so many days left on your current stamp to do the in country switch, usually 15 days or more)

You pay the 2000baht get a receipt that tells you when you go back (usually 2 weeks)

then you go back on that date,

they will ink in the Non-B visa, stamp it USED, and give you a new 90 day 'admitted until' stamp that lets you stay here

It's all on the school to provide the paperwork to immigration to convert to the non B visa which is good for 90 days, usually it's more difficult to get an in country Non B.
