Will my Multi-entry Tourist e-Visa cover my planned stay in Thailand despite the different validity dates?

In September I applied to the Embassy in London for a 6 month Multi entry Tourist e-Visa sending all the necessary documentation which included as specifically asked for my date of departure and return using Emirates. My flights were leaving the UK on 26th October and returning on the 7th April next year.

I received the e-Visa quite quickly but I noticed that the dates were different to what I applied for, namely valid from 10th Setember until 8th March 2026.

I immediately sent an e-mail to the Embassy asking if I was OK until my return flight on 7th April but got no response so I send another with the same result.

I then send a long hand letter with all the attachments but yet again I have received no response.

I have some important engagements late March next year and I'm getting really concerned about my travel arrangements. Am I worrying needlessly and will this e-Visa cover me for my planned stay. Some advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, Gordon, applied for a 6-month Multi Entry Tourist e-Visa for Thailand but noted discrepancies in validity dates subsequent to issuance. Despite concerns about the e-Visa's validity in relation to his planned travel dates (departing on 26th October and returning on 7th April), community responses confirm that the e-Visa will cover his stay as long as he enters Thailand before the validity date. Each entry grants a 60-day stay, which can be extended by 30 days. Gordon's early application resulted in the issued e-Visa validity differing from his intended travel schedule.

No problem really. Every entry right up until the validity date gets you stamped in for 60 days so as long as your final entry is before that you're good

Your OK same happened to me

Thanks Paul. I've been going for nearly 15 years now but I used to be given the 1 year multi for retired people but they say they no longer do it.

@Gordon ******
they stopped doing it when they moved to the evisa system

Thanks. You would have thought the Embassy in London could have spent a minute and emailed that confirmation instead of just continually ignoring me. Anyway its now OK and I can't wait to get back. This is a very helpful site.

Unfortunately, you applied "too early" with the Thai Embassy in London for your Multiple Entry Tourist E–Visa, because they promptly processed your application and issued you a Multiple Entry Tourist E–Visa in early September (10 September 2025):

So, if you had applied a bit later, say this month (October 2025), then you would have seen your E–Visa Validity Dates that you had suggested....

Regardless, do understand the particular details and differences between Visa Validity and Period of Stay....

It's not too early because his last 60 day re-entry will take him beyond 7-Apr

yes I did apply early as it took from late December until the end of January earlier this year. I certainly wasn't expecting a one day turn around this time.

It does so don't panic. Ideally do your final re-entry to Thailand less that 60 days before your 7-Apr departure date.

Thanks to you both. I'm very relieved. I'll do as you suggest for my last visa run

The METV multiple entry Tourist Visa is ISSUED FOR 6 MONTHS... during that time you get a 60 day STAMP on each entry into Thailand.

AND

EACH entry can get an ADDED 30 day EXTENSION from your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

Here's a quick look at the METV multiple entry tourist visa which you have obtained... Pardon me but it's 5:15 am in the early morning here in Thailand ...

My count of days may be off one day each calculation...

But you can see... this is one way to stay for your planned itinerary.

Sept 10 to Nov 9 initial 60 days on arrival

Nov 9 to Dec 8 ... 30-day extension

Dec 8 to Feb 7... BORDER BOUNCE 60 days

Feb 7 to Mar 7 ...30-day extension

Mar 7 to May 6... BORDER BOUNCE 60 days

Your planned departure date from Thailand is April 7th

You will be okay...with planning of the use of the METV multiple entry tourist visa.

what documents are needed and what financial evidence do you need to supply and for how long …I might be going through the same process from London myself at some point stage for the METV ..thanks

obviously .the main page of your passport and your personal details. You must also have your flights booked and send them a copy of your e ticket. They want details of where you'll be staying. I have my own apartment and earlier this year they really wanted the details. This time not so much. They want 3 months of your bank statement showing an income going in whether it be your pension or salary and the amount is not too high. The rest is a passport type photo pretty recent as it is put on the e Visa you get. The application form is pretty straight forward. And you can save it and go back to it until you're complete. Then you pay using your bank card £150. They might come back to you if they want more information all done by email but this time mine went through quickly and I received it next day but it took me 3 weeks to do in January hence my early application this time. They are mainly interested in making sure you have enough income to support yourself and have a place to stay. No insurance was required which is a blessing for me as I'm 80 with cancer and basically uninsurable. It's really quite easy. I hope this helps.

@Jamie *****
No, the visa starts on the day of issue and, in this case, is valid for 6 months giving 60 days on each entry

@Jamie *****
he applied for the METV multiple entry tourist visa... not the SETV single entry tourist visa.

£150 for 6 months. Yes there is a minimum which I cant remember off hand but it is quite small by UK standards so it shouldn't be a problem. They're more interested in it being regular.
