Hi. My passport expires on May 29th 2025. A new Non OA extension would expire on June 20th 2025. Will immigration issue the extension and then swap to new passport when issued please?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is inquiring whether immigration will issue a Non OA visa extension that expires after the current passport expiration date, and if they can transfer the extension to a new passport later. According to a community response, the extension will be granted only until the passport expires, meaning the new extension will follow the passport's expiration date. Once a new passport is issued, the extension can be transferred, but the individual will not receive any additional time beyond the new passport's expiration.

If you are applying for a year extension but your passport is not valid for the year, you will get the extension until the passport expires.
Once you get a new passport you can go to your immigration office and they will move the extension stamp
BUT
they will not give you the time you lost because of the passport expiring, so you will only have an extension until May 29, 2025 and that will be your new extension expiration date
