Apologies for the anonymous post but for obvious reasons It is a necessity. Has anyone applied for a DTV through the soft power route, entered Thailand on the DTV, left again and returned later ever been asked for proof of participation of their soft power activity?
I was approved via Muay Thai course originally booked for February. For a reason I'd rather not disclose I was unable to participate in the course.
I'll be leaving next month and returning in July with the intention of going to the course but I'm worried about the re-entry without participating in the course during the original stay.
Does anybody know if they check or do you think you could do the course anytime within the 5 year period?
I'm ready for the abuse, criticism and butthurt replays but I'm sure I'm not the only person in this position.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An anonymous user inquires about the necessity of presenting proof of participation in a Muay Thai course after being granted a DTV visa through the soft power route. They're concerned about re-entering Thailand without having attended the originally booked course. Responses from the community suggest that it is unlikely immigration will check for attendance upon re-entry, and several members share personal experiences where they faced no issues. Recommendations include obtaining a confirmation letter from the Muay Thai gym for additional reassurance.
i had to leave thailand for 2 weeks, 2 months after my entry. My muay thai soft power visa was never questioned upon my re entry. Loads of people in here are angry bitter lonely man, just ignore them and focus on the wealth of info instead
You could get a letter from your Muay Thai school confirming your dates of departure/return and mentioning that you’re a student in good standing. I’m sure they’ll write you one of you ask
a lot of people here are a big meanie, just let it happens and see how it goes. I was discouraged and told I won’t get my DTV approved cuz I was 19 no matter how much I’m earning thru freelancing, however I proved them wrong, posted about it and still some were very provocative. The thing about DTV is you never know until you try or experienced. So just shoot your shot and don’t take people’s opinions.
They will most likely not check your attendance when entering (could happen but how would they make sure you were actually there or not? If they call the Gym, make sure they hear the right answer 😉 ). Tourist police started checking attendance though, so you better start, what you signed up for.
Anonymer Teilnehmer 495 I know a guy who has been checked, I cant make any statement how Common this is, but I personaly think it will get more common in the future with increasing popularity of the DTV.
Hi Mr. Anonymous, nice to meet your number. I like the sound of 495, it gives a special touch 🙂 I am a freelancer. I go to gyms, but bowldering ones.
Having a visa does’t grant auto entry. Immigration officer at counter still have final decision. If you want to take the risk do deal with the consequences accordingly.
