I'm currently in the process of doing my DTV visa but the embassy is asking for additional documents.
Do you think it would be okay if I didn't add the additional documents and basically put it on hold , whilst I travel into Thailand because I have to do a training course at one of the offshore centers in Pattaya, then one that is done , fly back to Vietnam and then upload the documents.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about postponing the submission of additional documents required for a DTV visa while traveling to Thailand for a training course. Several commenters advised against leaving the embassy jurisdiction, as this could lead to application cancellation. It was noted that typically, applicants have 14 days to upload additional documents and that they should remain in the country where they applied until a decision is made. There were also discussions about how to potentially expedite or clarify the documentation process.
Two points, you usually have 14 days max to upload the documents before they cancel. However, while you have an application before the embassy, you are not supposed to enter Thailand (nor leave the country where you are applying) - however many don’t get caught
It us usually 14 days to add additional docs and then cancelled. Why not contact them and explain the situation and ask them to put it on hold. They can only say no.
