certainly  learnt something  about Nong Khai immigration..

went in with all neccesary  documentation  bank details,long term rental agreement...

ask about converting  my 60 tourist visa to a 90day non o visa... NO,go to  thai embassy  in lao, for the visa..

 gave me a photo copy of want they want for a "retirement  " visa...

 will use an  agent to see if they can help , if not trip to Laos,which I don't particularly  want to do!!  

anoying  fact is I could of applied  for a 90day non o  in London,  I  took  the 60day visa...

We recommend ALWAYS going to your immigration office and asking for their handout for visa conversion or long term visa extension before you will be applying.

You are showing a handout for visa extension but you are trying to do a visa conversion so this handout means nothing to you.

If you had gone beforehand and asked for their handout for visa conversion, they would have told you at that time they do not do visa conversion to retirement visa and you could have planned accordingly before gathering your documents.

IF u have the 800,000 in a bank go to the embassy in Vientiane for single entry NON O

obviously Nong Khai doesn;t do conversions

SO if u use an agent it wont be thru Nong Khai immigration
