Will getting an overstay stamp affect my DTV application in Thailand?
My Visa expires January 3 and I just realized immigration will be closed Friday, January 2.
It was mentioned in this group that you’re allowed to go the next day that they are open for the extension, you will get an overstay stamp, but they will waive the fee due to the holiday. Do you know if getting this overstay stamp would m affect applying for the DTV though?

What visa do you have that expires, and what were you planning to do at immigration?

It won't affect a DTV application but if you go on the 5th which is the next day immigration is open for an extension you might get a stamp saying you overstayed but there's no penalty because the office was closed. Most offices will be pretty busy on the 5th so leave plenty of time

You can leave tomorrow to Laos and apply DTV from there. You have to do it anyway, so why postpone it for another 30 days?

Many people have been issued a DTV having had overstays in the past. One bloke published he had been on a year ban as his overstay was so long. Still got a DTV no problem.
