Will applying for a 30-day extension on a 60-day Tourist Visa cause issues upon arrival in Thailand?

This is about arriving in Thailand from the Philippines on a 60 day Tourist Visa and showing a 90 day return on another flight booking.

The intention is to apply for a 30 day extension before the 60 day Tourist Visa expires.

There are no back to back visits involved.

Does anyone know if this could give rise to an issue on arrival or even cause the 60 day Visa application to be denied in the Philippines at the Thai Embassy there.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around the process of entering Thailand on a 60-day Tourist Visa from the Philippines, with an intention to apply for a 30-day extension before the initial visa expires. The main concerns are whether showing a 90-day return ticket may raise any red flags at the Thai Embassy in the Philippines or at immigration upon arrival. Commenters note that while it is not typically a problem to apply for the extension or present onward travel plans, actual decisions rest with immigration officials, highlighting discretion and individual circumstances in visa matters.

And as there is much more to this story of Tony his girlfriend, i close the commenting. These questions in what ever form are answered in the last 3 months several times. Sorry Tony, but there are no changes to let a girlfriend live long time in Thailand using Visa Exempt Entry and Tourist Visa's.

In other words, nothing you’ve described is a red flag 🚩 for visa denial or entry denial. BUT embassy/consulate officers and Immigration officers have some discretion to approve or not approve.

@Tony ******
the problem you may have could be in the Philippines as they normally want to see a flight out of Thailand if your tourist especially at Nino Aquino . So if you have that you should be ok at that end.

Usually only if the passenger is flying without a visa.

Questions change, answers stay the same. The person who does know if you can get a Single Entry Tourist Visa at the Embassy in the Philippines is the person who stamp in inside your passport and hand the passport back to you,sorry but others can not tell you. Than if you have this visa, the person who decide to let you enter Thailand is the person at the Immigration Checkpoint, it is the same, nobody else can give the answer. At Immigration checkpoint it would not be a problem that you have the intention to apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay and therefor have onward travel in that period.
