Penang SETV Warning Stamp: Just received one yesterday: "The owner of this passport.....may result in the refusal....". I've lived around Asia for 10 years and this is my 4th SETV to TL. Although my passport is thick, I've spent more time in 4 or 5 other countries. My SETVs:

July 2016 Penang

December 2016 Phnom Penh

February 2017 Phnom Penh

Yesterday: Penang

Over the past 10 years about 7 landing stamps for short stays. I have been searching Khon Kaen for a way to get an ED visa and finally found a school there.

So, will the stamp affect a a 1-yr ED or Business visa consideration? Looking forward to getting into class and putting these issues behind.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user recently received a warning stamp on their passport regarding their frequent issuance of short-term SETV (Single Entry Tourist Visa) by Thai consulates. They have reported holding multiple SETVs over the years while living in various Asian countries. They are concerned whether this warning will influence their application for a longer-term Education (ED) or Business visa. Responses indicate that the warning stamp regarding past tourist visa usage is unlikely to impact their ability to obtain these new visas.

was this from the consulate in Penang?

same as Vientiane, they just look through the passport, they do not consider back to back or other time factors. They just count what is in your passport.....

Yes, I was a bit surprised by it, as I had a year between my two visas there and have been out of Thailand for months at a time.

I guess so. That's what the OP said

Nope a warning stamp from a thai consulate about you getting too many tourist visas from them won't affect you getting another type of visa..
