I did three visa exempt border bounces last year. Two by air one by land. Been on an ED Visa for the past 9 months which has ended. I need to do one last border bounce by air to get 3 months to meet the end of my lease. Will this be an issue considering it’s a new calendar year? Thanks…

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potentially facing issues with immigration after doing multiple visa-exempt border bounces in the past while currently on an expired ED visa. Responses suggest that while a new calendar year does not reset one's immigration history, there are varying experiences and opinions among expats regarding the risks of additional border bounces. Many suggest contacting a border bounce agency for assistance due to stricter immigration policies and risks of being denied entry, especially after prolonged stays on an education visa.
"the luck of the straw" reveals how d..b you are. It is the luck of the draw. And we have multiple reports of thousands of people being denied entry since the change from 30 days visa exempt to 60 days. GET A LIFE and join the visa-advice groups. It is plainly open for you to read and understand it. Tony Long is talking about times long gone. While there is no written rule on how long you can stay and how often you can enter on a visa-exempt, the REALITY these days is, that after two times within a short period, you will be in dire need for that "straw" for the "lucky draw" 😆

Your best and potentially only option is to use a professional landborder transport company to bounce you. They’re fair priced anyway, know the name of the game and will not bring you unless they’re confident in getting you another visa exemption.

All these experts . There is clearly no answer because it's clearly up to the person at the desk on the day . I would do a walk over Laos stay two days and get 60 days and do one extension in Thailand
have you actually lived in Thailand or are you one of those keyboard experts . I did numerous border runs for years with no issues it's luck of the straw. I would rather do a walk over because if you do get grab on the airport they lock you up till you book a flight out of there
Holy shit. You are asking a moderator of this site if he’s a keyboard warrior. Get real. We deal with this stuff on a daily basis. We see real stories from people every day. The fact you managed to do what you did a few years ago has absolutely zero basis on what’s going to happen to someone today.
once again true. I just enter after letting my visa expire do to emergency. I flew back and not a single person ask me for any documents. No return flight and hotel reservations. Just stamp and smiled. So much for strict guidelines being enforce . People say they post and was questioned and maybe grilled but hardly has anyone posted being return to passport origin. People on here would claim the 1 percenters represent the whole. Totally false
it's luck of the draw , in any department even with getting my marriage certificate. Same issue Udon Thani nope told us go to her place of birth went there sorry can not even we went to another province in Udon and yes sir
wow. Me and wife went to a district office in Bangkok after we got documents translated with embassy. No problem at all.it was funny the lady at district doing the marriage license laughed with wife and said she needed to try a dating site 555. I am surprised in udon Thani you had trouble. They are usually friendly to most expat from what I here and see. But as we both know any given day it based on the mood of the person.
because the price of cheese is quite expensive in Thailand 💰🧀🤣
My personal experience is that it's never straight forward and it just comes down to the officer processing your documents on the day . As they say up to them
Your border runs for years means nothing. Everything is COMPLETELY different since they changed visa exempt to 60 days. People are getting pulled up for even doing a SINGLE border bounce after maximizing their 60+30 visa exempt beforehand. Borders are becoming much more strict, requiring people to spend multiple nights out of Thailand, and requiring proof of a PAID airplane ticket back to passport country after 60 days, proof of hotel reservation, and showing the required cash to enter Thailand. Dozens or hundreds of people are being denied entry every day at the airports. It's a completely different situation now and not one to be taken lightly unless you enjoy spending thousands of dollars buying a last minute ticket back home after being denied entry. Facebook groups are awash with people reporting these issues daily.
Someone who spend 6 months in Thailand before going on an ED (which was only gotten to CLEARLY live in Thailand, and is the most abused visa type there is) and then immediately leaves and returns on ANOTHER visa exempt? There's almost 100% chance of having issues if trying to border bounce by yourself. Immigration isn't stupid, they know you are abusing the system trying to live in Thailand without a proper visa.

@ Thailand needs to do ICE operations, similar to what is happening in the US. Fair is fair!
it seems unlikely that someone would travel without considering how they would get back. Perhaps you're underestimating people's ability to plan and prepare for their trips. Most travelers have a clear plan in place for their return journey.
Possibly a problem. I would definitely use an agency and you will have no issuesn

As there’s no clear rules to follow its all speculation. If you’re bouncing after this run it shouldn’t be a problem. The land border run is water tight with an agent. SR visa outa Onnut do a good serice.

Yes, coming off a Ed Visa and Immigration wouldn't believe you are a tourist and they may refuse you entry

New calendar year does not erase your past history, so it means nothing. I would say you are at VERY high risk of complications if you try doing a border bounce yourself. Give up the idea of doing a border bounce by air and contact a land border bounce agency to ensure you can get out and back without any complications.
Make sure you cancel your education extension before you attempt to do this.
