Why was my visa application rejected without explanation and what should I do next?

Just rejected hcmc. Zero reasoning why, exceeded all the requested requirements.

Applied 09/29 @ 1100am

Rejected 10/10 @ 525pm

Joke. Won’t be reapplying, will find country that wants longterm stays. No reason to apply again if there’s no reasoning behind rejection.

The only thing I can think about is your previous history in Thailand, have you been in Thailand for long term, perhaps with an ED visa by any chance?
Anonymous ******************
It’s common they reject first time applications for the slightest reason. Assuming most will apply again. They rejected me for not having my middle name on every single document. I had ChatGPT walk me through the next time and I got approved the next week. Was mad for a second but $750 applying twice still better than 1000 a company will charge. Best of luck

Just to clarify, it was a rejection and not a cancellation, as they can do either, and each has different meaning. How long was the class that you registered for? What did they request of you and what did you supply?
Mo ******
They should give a reason. Try to ask them
Henrik *****
Worst advice.

Both the Embassy and the e-visa websites clearly states, that in case of rejection “NO REASON WILL BE GIVEN”

I will Monday, they sent it 5:25 on a Friday

you should indeed try to understand why and then correct the mistake and apply in another embassy. Then you will have lost only the application fees. Stay strong and keep punching 🥊

The Philippines want you. And you don't even need a visa to stay long term. Go enjoy 10,000 islands and people who speak English.

definitely looking into it, many options for longterm stays. I love Thailand but how ridiculous. Exceed everything and get rejected for no reason

I wouldn't give up on DTV if you think Thailand is the best choice for you. Try in Laos, they require an interview which can be used to your advantage. They're mainly concerned about finances, but if you login to your phone and show them you have the $ you're in good shape. You can try Philippines, but I was there for 8 months and it wasn't for me. Wouldn't recommend Manila, go there and try places like Baguio, Tagaytay, Cebu, or even Boracay.

that’s good info, thank you much for the thought, I’ll possibly retry at some point. I was directed by the gym to hcmc for the easiest and fastest… but an in person interview would have landed it. I’ll update Monday if I can get a reason out of the embassy here

Nick Lomb this could be only a BS mistake in a birth date or delivery place of passport

look we have examples here of people who got rejected one time and got accepted the second time. Look up for them you will see. Especially if you qualify, it means it’s a BS silly mistake. It was the case for them too but they lost 300 euros application fees

@Nick *****
the visa situation is a lot better in the Philippines, so you won't have that issue. A lot of expats stay in Cebu or Makati, so you should start there and visit a few islands.
De *****
@Steve ******
The visa situation is generous and better for those without a Thai DTV, but DTV saves a lot more money than doing continuous tourist visa extensions in Ph. I also got tired of the trips every 60 days to immigration.
Steve *******
@De ****
you can get 6 month extensions in some provinces. But OP can't get a DTV, so now we're trying to help him find options.

Yes, enjoy all the earthquakes/ natural disasters. Also, the constant political drama/corruption they are currently having. I would stay far away from the phillipines for the time being. Also Steve, many people in thailand, especially in tourist areas with high volume speak english fine. Why don't you go to the phillipines instead?
Steve *******
Anonymous participant 266 why did you get so offended by me recommending another country to another person? No one was talking to you. Are you okay, friend?
Anonymous ******************
@Steve ******
You came off as offensive towards the country you live in. Why the comment about "people who can speak English"? I know many thais who speak perfect english. I also know Filipinos who don't. It's weird to live in Thailand and be in a Thai group, yet put down the people. Also, I stated nothing but the truth about the Philippines.
Steve *******
Anonymous participant 266 you reading into things that aren't there, isn't on me. I said nothing you seem to think I said.

Maybe work on that. It's okay to be positive, no one will hurt you for being nice.

Anonymous participant 325 right now you wont. But they didnt need to show proof for the ED visa either. Look what happened? 10 000 visa cancelled. You really think they not gonna change it?

Anonymous participant 763 not needed if you have the

Correct docs it’s easy
Anonymous ******************
Sounds strange. My company just had a customer get her DTV in 8 working days. They did request additional paperwork asking for cover letter why she should get the visa. Either your paperwork wasn’t what they wanted or your passport is “weak”. Just redo it with proper company that can supply you with the required documentation 💯.

Anonymous participant 397 won’t be reapplying, us cit, greatly exceeded all requirements. Rejected without reason. It’s fine, just posting my results so others can avoid hcmc embassy and possibly the Thai dtv all together

@Nick *****
HCMC is among the most popular for DTVs, very high rate of approval as this forum shows. There must be something they are not happy with but it is frustrating they have not told you.

probably so, looking for longterm stays. Love Thailand but what a slap to the face trying to do the right thing. Greatly exceeded all requirements and rejected for no reason. I’ve done Ed visa and been in and out of Thailand many times never overstaying, im US cit. I’ll look elsewhere at this point
